Is the United States Going Socialist?

Over the past several years, we have found more and more items sold in the United States to be coming from China. The quality is usually adequate, but I believe that the only reason that we import so many items from China is because of the costs involved. We actually save money by using their cheaper labor compared to even our Minimum Wage standards in the US. Is this fair? Living in this great country gives us many options in life. We can almost attend any school, get any job and live where we desire. The only thing stopping us is our own desire to succeed. As a matter of fact, many foreigners often achieve success quicker than most Americans who were born here do. It's not a secret that many...

Secured personal loans are secured against the borrower's property. Lenders become more flexible in the case of secured personal loans. The lender claims the property of the borrower if the borrower fails to repay the debt. Unsecured personal loans are an entirely different in its nature. Unsecured Personal Loans are the personal loans where the borrower's property is not secured against the credit. There is no need for the borrower to offer property to the lender as collateral, which means the lender has no human...

Non-Governmental Organisations In Mauritus

Recently there has been a mushrooming of NGOs in Mauritius. Those NGOs have different purposes, be it to sensitive people about human rights, animal rights, ailments and so much more. Sometimes those NGOs reach their goals to a certain extent and often they fail to do so due to lack of personnel, funds and a proper organisation. In an interview in a popular local weekly Dr. Satish Boolell gave his opinion about NGOs. According to him, the propagation of NGOs does no good to the country. What we really need, still according to him, is for those NGOs to work together in networks. That is, each organisation doing a share of the job to reach a certain objective. For example organisations fighting...

We are as a people and as a planet in a time of dynamic change that is certain to change life as we know it. These changes are shifting the consciousness of the planet and the very paradigms that we have been raised with. The energy on the planet has been shifting for many years now and it is becoming more intense. New energies have been entering our atmosphere and energy, in general, has been building up within and around the planet. There is an awakening and a dynamic shift taking place on our planet. The awakening is of the people, coming alive to the ideas and understanding of their own power. For too long now, people have lived their lives in the illusion that there was a power outside of...

#ffffff;" /> “There are only two ways to rule a society, by fear or by hope, and it’s the same for any individual too” My extensive study of history shows me that the statement above is fundamentally true. But the most important thing is that as individuals we are much the same. We can either allow ourselves to be ruled principally by fear, or we can lead our lives more positively through rational hope. Think about this a moment please, are you more preoccupied with the fear of what might happen’, rather than on what you want to happen in your general decision-making? I am no stranger to fear. I have certainly known knee-shaking fear and seen horrific examples of my own...

The issue of illegal immigrants has been debated by politicians over and over but with little results. The very sensitive nature of the issue has caused many politicians to steer clear of the issue, unless it could swing voters to support a particular political party. Truth be told, the push to enact new immigration laws is more of a political act rather than a show of sincerity to resolve an issue that has plagued the country for many decades now. We have been told of illegal immigrants pros and cons but little has been done to address the issues. "It is easy to be swayed by arguments against illegals because the proponents underscore the threats to the American public and downplay the perceived...

"Happiness is not achieved by the conscious pursuit of happiness; it is generally the by-product of other activities." - Aldous Huxley Many people seem to think their mission in life needs to be a spectacular quest to "save the world." That's not true. It doesn't have to be huge; it just has to be something. And it has to be what's right for you. This is what really matters. It's about finding your purpose and then living it everyday. Life really becomes a whole new experience once you figure out what you were born to do. Getting up in the morning isn't quite as difficult as it used to be. All those little things that used to drive you crazy don't seem as annoying anymore. Everything becomes so much...

When motivated by an issue, people will vote. This is a simple and true axiom that is put to test each voting cycle in States like California where ballot initiatives are put to the voters. The effect of Special Interest Group advertising could not have been more apparent than in the Governor Davis Recall election in the middle of his gubernatorial term. It required a desire to change. It required a common theme to inspire the electorate. It required funding and it required a strong message. When determining the best avenue of advertising for your cause, you need to first, actually have a cause. I remember in college during an era when global human rights was the big issue. I had a conversation with...

So, although this is an old issue, I write it down anyway for anybody who wants to know the truth about Indonesia. For clarity, I put it in pointers. * The name and actor choosing for Indonesian character is not good enough. They look more like Japanese than Indonesian. Only Indonesian President acted by Indonesian man named Ariono Suriawinata. The other by American-Japanese (Nelson Mashita as Minaldi, state interpreter...

Russia and Chechnya

Russia and Chechnya This is in response to Mr Vladimir Mikhaylov's letter (Aug 1). Firstly, I would like to praise his statement about the ongoing successful development of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Russia. In regard to Chechnya, I think the acts committed by Russia speak more than any words I can write here. History reveals the lack of respect Russia has shown towards its neighbours and the world community at large in the past. It is one of the few countries in the new world order which has attempted to occupy a sovereign country, namely Afghanistan. And as history has shown us time and again, that oppression anywhere in the world has no long-lived victory. As for the so-called lack...

Eco-tourism Responsible tourism means all tourism directly dependent on the use of natural life e.g. wildlife and landscape. Nature based tourism include eco-tourism and mass tourism. Uncontrolled mass tourism continues to contribute to the degradation of natural & cultural significance (commercialization of Culture) thus leading or causing loss of biological and cultural biodiversity, and important sources of income. Nature based tourism offers a way of financing unique ecosystems preservation. This provides opportunity for the community living near the protected areas to benefit economically e.g. employment opportunity. But Nature based tourism & travel while sustaining eco-system also degrades...

The phenomenal success of both the movie and the book Ayat-Ayat Cinta (AAC) is a reflection of our social conditioning and aspirations. What is interesting is that AAC has been able to dilute the "differences" in such conditioning and aspirations to the extent of being unrecognizable. The movie and the book have been equally appreciated by our President, our clergy and normal people. The question is, do we need a book or a movie like AAC to unite us? If we do, then we have some very serious problems here. "Ayat", to my understanding, is Arabic for "proof" or "evidence". "The proofs or evidences of the Lord's presence are scattered all over." All our scriptures agree on this. "Those with eyes can see...

When looking for a divorce in India it used to be impossible to not get a piercing, condescending glare. That is changing now. A brief understanding of how Indians perceive this word and phenomenon is necessary. It is the legal separation of two spouses who wish to bring an end to their vows (known as pheras), for all effects and purposes. The procedure to get a divorce in India is quite unlike that exercised in western countries like the Unites States and Sweden. There is only one set of laws that are implemented and followed national wide by all tiers of courts. In earlier days, regardless of whether there existed a radical divide between spouses, it was expected (by elders and society) alike that...

One of the more painful experiences an individual could face is deportation from the United Kingdom. According to the UK immigration law, an individual is ordered to be deported due to some indiscretions. The law also stipulates that an individual with an order for deportation is removed from the United Kingdom and will be held in custody until deported to his country. This order is absolute and you cannot be once again admitted to the UK as a precaution because the visa application is cancelled as long as the order remains effective. Under the UK immigration Law, there are certain factors for orders of deportation. For a number of reasons an individual may be expelled from the UK soil if: 1. The...

Once again I am amazed by the accuracy of the Word of God, which states: "The last shall be first and the first shall be last" (Luke 13:30). The "Barbary Powers Conflict" began shortly after the Revolutionary War and continued through the Presidencies of Washington, Adams, Jefferson, and Madison.1 The Muslim Barbary Powers (Tunis, Morocco, Algiers, Tripoli, and Turkey) were warring against what they claimed to be the "Christian" nations (England, France, Spain, Denmark, and the United States). In 1801, Tripoli declared war against the United States,2 thus constituting America's first official war as an established independent nation. Interestingly enough our first war as a nation was against...

There's still a lot of people out there who don't realize China isn't a democracy, perhaps confused by its booming capitalist economy that's expected to replace Japan this year as the world's second biggest in terms of GDP. China doesn't have elections, has no freedom of speech and, of course, censures the Internet. Recently it backed away from requiring that all computers have its Green Dam software installed, a content control system. Perhaps the embarrassing public revelation that Green Dam contained code copied from Net Nanny, a commercial Internet filtering program, and the subsequent law suit filed by the publishers had something to do with the about face. However, Green Dam wasn't absolutely...

The current trends towards Socialism in the First World and the trends towards communism in the Third World are fairly alarming for those who study civilizations. Unfortunately the allure of socialism for the masses seems like a gods send, but it is a trap. It is a death spiral or flat spin for which there is no recovery. It is like flushing all you are and all you have built down a hypersonic turbo rotating toilet. In the United States we see the society moving in the direction of socialism. Of course relying on the government for everything does not work, as the government generally does nothing very well. Worse someone has to pay for it and due to the demand for free stuff this means increased...

Following the long-overdue drive to put the Constitutional Reform Act into the table of the United Kingdom's legislation: applying to the whole UK, on March 2005 the Bill received the Royal Assent. Trapping herself into the principle of "government by the consent of the governed", this Constitutional Reform Act does not only steer UK's legal system into the modernized footing, but she is likely to be indulging herself into "a clear and present danger" test, this is likely to be on the line with professor Vernon Bogdanor, in his first online review publication, who referred to this reform as The Quiet Revolution (Vernon, 2005, Internet;) So what is the most clear-cut theme of this recent...

It's an organization devoted to something different which, in a human viewpoint, is more powerful that God Himself perhaps. That's a good starting point but since its creation UN has been also a vain authority to prevent genocides and warfare across the world. "The ideals which have always shown before me and filled me with the joy of living are goodness beauty and truth. How is this so? There's a growing body of evidence that says such folks "disengage" from their core values, detour from their moral compass and, more than that, consciously "forget" information that would otherwise limit their inappropriate behavior. It's quite evident many folks behave...

The Crime Rate of any country is an official statistic that reflects certain particular defining points for a country. The nature and the general motives behind the crime is usually immaterial, and statisticians rarely concern themselves with value-oriented appraisal of data. Instead, the crime rate of a country is usually decided on the number of officially lodged cases of crime, collated over a period of usually a year. Qualitative judgments rarely influence the statistic in a country, and hence, a petty case of thievery would effectively influence the statistic as much as a capital crime. The thing to note about these statistics within a particular time-frame is that the compilation process is...

By pursuing college activities outside of your curriculum, you will learn a lot about the activity itself, and more importantly, a lot about yourself. For example, if you love student government, that’s a sign that perhaps you should really run for office one...

By definition, a loan modification is a PERMANENT change in your mortgage terms. This should not be confused with "forbearance" which lenders commonly offer as an option to borrowers requesting that their loan be modified. There are 3 components needed to qualify for a loan modification. Hypnosis and mind control are powerful tools that can have far reaching effects on a person's consciousness and unconsciousness. Remember that when you place suggestions or commands into a prospect's mind under hypnosis as part of your sales techniques you're speaking directly to their unconscious mind. While a hypnotized prospect will not do anything they would not be willing to do under any other circumstance, their judgment is impaired and they may take actions based on the ideas you give them. This can have negative consequences if your sales techniques are not appropriate. Your memory...
